Bond International Software PLC announces a 58% fall in profits in its preliminary results for 2009

Bond International Software PLC has just released its preliminary results for 2009. Following their 2008 results which showed a reduction in pre-tax profits of 45% from £5.111m to £2.833m, their preliminary 2009 results show that adjusted profits (?) have fallen by 58% from £3.1 million to just £1.3 million. Given that the company’s pre tax profits were some £300k lower than their “adjusted” profits in 2008 there is speculation that the groups pre-tax profits will fall below a million pounds when they publish their results. Bond International Software (uk) Ltd, the Belfast registered company that sells Adapt posted a £1.261 million profit in 2008 – so one is left wondering how much of the 1.3 million has been contributed in 2009.

Trysis forced to withdraw its brochure after The Advertising Standards Authority declares it and other advertising misleading!

The ASA found that TriSys could not substantiate its claim to be the “world’s first Windows based recruitment software.  On this point Trisys breached the Code clauses 3.1 (substantiation), 7.1 (truthfulness) and 19.1 (other comparisons).

It further found that the comparison made by Trisys to other Software vendors products in its brochure were misleading.  It suggested that features that it had were unique to it and when in fact other products had the same or similar features. On this point the brochure breached Code, clauses 3.1 (substantiation), 7.1 Truthfulness and 19.1 (other comparisons).

First Choice was successful in High Court action against Bond International

Bond International has settled a High Court defamation claim brought by a rival software supplier, First Choice Software Ltd.

Bond retracted statements made about First Choice and the capabilities of its products, undertook not to repeat certain allegations and made a payment to First Choice.

Roy Snart, Managing Director of First Choice Software, pointed out that Bond International UK Ltd, the Belfast registered company that sells Adapt, has historically been the largest supplier of recruitment software and consequently it was particularly important that they be accurate when dealing with prospective clients. He said it was a shame that First Choice had had to revert to the courts and had tried to resolve the matter amicably.

He went on to say that the agreement was timely as it came at the same juncture that First Choice was rolling out its RDB ProNet database to Select Education, Protocol Education and Resource Group, all of whom were previously Bond clients, and who, between them, add around another 500 seats to the user base of First Choice Software.

Market remains buoyant for ERP specialists

Despite the continuing economic downturn, demand for Oracle professionals, especially those with rare skill sets, remains strong according to the 2009 ERP salary survey from specialist recruiter Maximus IT.

Although the survey shows that the credit crunch has had some effect on the industry, with permanent Oracle positions now paying up to 12% less than 2007 especially in private companies, organisations are still buying and implementing ERP solutions. Consultancies are therefore still experiencing a strong demand for their services and hiring levels have remained relatively consistent. Full Story on Recruitment International Website...
